Professional Mentors
Hours variable
Required for work across a number of regions including Birmingham/Solihull, the Black Country, Central and South-west London, South Yorkshire and Derbyshire, North Yorkshire, Humberside and Teeside. To support employability and training linked to clients on flexible new deal programmes with an emphasis on work in the music and performance industries.
Salary up to £21,000 (pro-rata)
Armstrong Learning is one of the UK’s only providers of specialist music industry training combined with employability support and forms part of the Armstrong Learning Group alongside Access to Music, the UK’s leading designer and provider of popular music education, training and consultancy.
You will:
Provide a range of mentoring and support services to clients, identifying and removing barriers to work, motivating and providing practical help or signposting, reviewing work focused action plans leading to progression into employment.
You are:
Flexible, organised, able to work to deadlines and an effective communicator, with a knowledge and experience of work with the long term unemployed and the issues faced. You will also hold, be working towards a recognised teaching qualification or Information Advice and Guidance qualification at level 3 or 4.

Mentoring Coordinator
Macclesfield, Cheshire and Warrington (ref: MCCW5)
Part time (min 3 days 22.5hours pw)
Macclesfield based, travel required across Cheshire and Warrington
- Can you be a key player in a successful, high quality mentoring service for unemployed people, based in the Macclesfield and Cheshire and Warrington area?
- Can you manage a caseload of clients, with different and often complex needs?
- Do you understand the barriers which people face in getting back to work and can you help them move into, and stay in, work?
- Are you a fantastic team worker, able to fit in and share in the enthusiasm of a team of coordinators, professional mentors and volunteers?
- Can you inspire, motivate, guide and help people in a practical way?
- Do you have excellent communication skills, enabling you to build the strongest working relationships with Jobcentre Plus staff and other providers, to recruit clients and engage with other partners?
Armstrong learning are searching for an enthusiastic, committed and skilled mentor, advice worker, or trainer, to deliver information sessions, recruit and manage a caseload of mentoring clients on a confidential, one to one basis, working closely with Jobcentre Plus staff and other agencies.
This position is subject to an enhanced CRB check.
