How does the Armstrong Learning New Deal Mentor service work?
We will deliver regular Information Sessions to customers coming through the Gateway to Work and other appropriate New Deal routes. Advisers can send a ref2 form to Armstrong Learning for any customer expected to start on gateway to work provision.
If the customer wants to have a mentor, our mentoring coordinator will request a referral and start (SL2) form from the customer's New Deal Personal Adviser, Lone Parent Adviser or Disability Employment Adviser, and agree a provisional start date for the mentoring provision.
The mentoring meetings will often take place in the Jobcentre , but could also be at a local library, cafe, or training provider . An action plan is drawn up on the first meeting and progress is recorded as the relationship progresses. We use a mixture of professional and volunteer mentors to move customers forward with their lives and towards work. Our staff and volunteers are trained and fully supported.
We offer a quick turnaround for new customers, prompt response to telephone queries and an excellent database system that tracks and monitors all activities, ensuring accurate data and information.
