Music Industry Provider is a thirteen week Open Learning programme, designed to help you work in the music industry.
The course combines face to face, freephone and email support and advice, underpinned by our music industry workbooks and an array of added value packages. These include cut price access to services such as trade organisation membership and CD manufacture.
During our first year we have helped move over one thousand students towards their music and career goals. These achievements were celebrated in our recent Ofsted report, highlights of the inspection are as follows:

Workbooks
Outstanding resources are used well to promote learning. Armstrong Learning
music industry professionals are highly experienced industry individuals who
use their extensive knowledge and experience to support and develop
participants’ knowledge and understanding realistically and pragmatically. The
service they provide is consistently excellent. Learning materials are
outstanding. Nine music industry workbooks designed by Armstrong Learning
are attractive, compact and available to participants. They provide participants
with a variety of excellent information to choose from. Armstrong Learning’s
New Deal for Musicians programme is highly individualised. Each participant, in
partnership with a music industry professional, selects the appropriate
workbooks which are matched extremely well to learning and employment goals. The workbooks contain clear and particularly useful information and
worksheets on all relevant music industry topics.
Added value activities
Armstrong Learning provides outstanding additional learning activities. The
design of the Armstrong Learning programme extends beyond the DWP New
Deal for Musicians remit to include highly appropriate additional opportunities
for participants to develop their music career. Armstrong Learning has an
excellent number of pathways to enable participants to improve their chances
of working in the music industry. This includes opportunities to promote
material through the Armstrong Learning brand, contacts, record label and
retail partnerships. Participants are offered low cost opportunities to make
music products. Participants also have the opportunity to contact Armstrong
Learning by using a freephone number after their 13 week programme has
finished. Many take this opportunity up and ex-participants state that advisers
are always happy to support them.
Bespoke MIS
Armstrong Learning has a very effective management information system. A
new and well-designed management information system meets the current
expanded needs of the company very well.
